Bernadette Wolbring is an artist living in Stockholm and
Stuttgart. She graduated from the Slade School of Fine Art,
London and from the State Academy of Art and Design,
Stuttgart. Her practice derives from an interest in the political
potential of abstraction and in alternative notions of time.
Research for Square Pegs in Round Holes brought her to
Museumsquartier Vienna (2017), Art Lab Gnesta (2017) and the
Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm (2016/2017). The publication
was presented as a lecture performance at Index Foundation,
Stockholm (2018), Alta, Malmö (2018) and Gothenburg Fotobook
Festival (2017).
In collaborative contexts, at Corner College, Zurich (2017) and
Saunabaari, Helsinki (M-cult, 2017), she developed REFORM, a
feminist take on data visualisation techniques, resistance to
power in design principles and dance as emancipatory practice.
As part of peekaboo! she extends her artistic practice with
curatorial formats.
